Roca Patron Tequila

roca patron

Roca Patron Tequila

“Handcrafted tequilas made using the time-honored “tahona” process for a sophisticated and complex flavor profile.” For more product information check out: patrontequila.com

Roca Patron Silver

“The entry for Roca Silver is also significantly different from the traditional Patron. While there are sweet notes at the opening, including cooked agave and subtle vanilla, they are lighter and presented drier in Roca. In the midpalate, things continue to dry out with the addition of a light pepper spice and the slight earthy tone that was on the nose. A notable absence in the midpalate is Patron’s signature pepper kick – it’s simply not there. The finish for Roca Patron Silver is medium length and dry, with light pepper spice and fresh agave. After tasting Roca Silver, it’s easier to identify the qualities that the tahona produced tequila brings to the equation in Patron Silver, but when presented on its own it’s a dramatically different tequila.” For a more detailed review click this link: drinkspirits.com

Roca Patron Reposado

“The entry for Roca Patron Reposado is much lighter than the traditional Reposado and less complex. The opening has the sweet caramel, vanilla, and agave mixed with light pepper and oak spice. In the midpalate there’s a slight ramping up of the spice along with an increase in pepper. Things never get very spicy and there’s an overall light, delicate quality to the Roca Reposado. The finish for Roca Reposado is medium length and dry with light oak and pepper lingering on the palate.” drinkspirits.com

Roca Patron Anejo

“The entry of Roca Anejo follows the other entries in the Roca line with light, sweet notes of caramel, vanilla, and roasted agave but here the oak spice is strong enough to get some nice complexity right out of the gate. Things intensify in the midpalate where the oak spice is joined by cinnamon, ginger, and pepper. The finish is superb and brings the oak, pepper, and agave notes through to a long, enjoyable conclusion.” drinkspirits.com

New Whiskey

Jameson Caskmates Irish Whiskey

Aged in Craft Beer Barrels, Stout Edition.

Tasting notes taken from: Jamesonwhiskey.com. For more information click the link.

Nose

The initial aroma of freshly mown Hay is complimented by a crisp Orchard Fruit character, Green Apples and Pears along with a twist of Lime Zest. Mild Pot Still Spices appear, deepening from Green Tea to Hazel Nut and Milk Chocolate. The lingering Hop influence combines effortlessly with Toasted Oak and Barley Grains to form a solid base.

Taste

As expected, there is the initial sweet mouth coating typical of the Irish Pot Still Whiskey inclusion. Then the effect of the Beer Cask finish becomes apparent with the subtle touch of Hops and Cocoa Beans. Some Marzipan and Charred Oak add to the complexity.

Finish

Long and sweet with Milk Chocolate and Butterscotch

Early Whiskey

“Early Whiskey. Distilled from 2-row brewers barley grown right here in the Rogue Valley, Oregon. It was mashed, fermented and distilled all in-house. This first release is 100% from our local barley, aged for just about 2 months on Oregon oak, and tempered to 89 proof for your enjoyment. Its fresh, and wild and young – its EARLY, but its also smooth, and packed full of carmels and full flavors from our mashing techniques. This release has been many years in the planning, and we are very pleased to finally have it ready. Theres lots more resting in Oregon Oak for some, not-quite-so-early releases down the road. It will eventually mature into our single barrel releases as well, but for now, whiskey-lovers, here it is! Our first whiskey, proud to be entirely hand-made, with all local ingredients.”  For more information on this product and other Immortal Spirits & Distilling Company click here: Immortalspirits.com.

Ardbeg Perpetuum Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

“The color is moderate straw/light gold, hinting at youth. The nose cuts a familiar Ardbeg profile — sweetly smoky, like barbecue smoke, with a salty backbone. Don’t make any judgments yet, though. The body is something else entirely. Brine and seaweed hit the palate first, with less smoke than you’d think. Then comes a rich sweetness — honey, apricot jam, vanilla sugar, and some dark molasses on the back end. The finish has a sulfury edge to it, showcasing charred wood and dark chocolate, completing the tour of duty that takes this whisky from salt to sweet to bitter, all in one quick gulp.” This tasting review was provided by Drinkhacker.com

Color: Deep Mahogany.

Aroma: Fresh fruit & mushroom with hints of toasted French oak.

Taste: Sweet yet complex with notes of agave, vanilla & mushroom.

Finish: Smooth, long-lasting. Click here for more Patron product info: Patrontequila.com

The following excerpt, is a part of a very detailed review from drinkspirits.com. Check out the full review by clicking the link.

“Medium amber in color, the nose on Piedra clearly shows off its time in barrel with a fair amount of oak, cigar box, and clove spice combined with black pepper, clove, and spicy jalapeño pepper. The integration between the oak spice notes and pepper from the tequila is very solid and the two different kinds of spice work very well together. There is also a nice undercurrent of sweet caramel that helps bring it all together.”

Whiskey Arrivals

Jefferson’s Ocean Aged At Sea Whiskey

“Inspired by the original Jefferson’s Ocean, which was new-filled bourbon barrels, the Jefferson’s Ocean: Aged at Sea takes older bourbon barrels and brings it around the world. Stopping in 5 different continents and crossing the equator 4 times, this bourbon truly is a world beater.”

Whiskey review provided by: Breakingbourbon.com Check out the link for more information.

Nose: A strong dose of raisins and citrus hits with a great deal more intensity than you’d expect for 90 proof.

Palate: Raisins come through immediately and dominate the whole sip, making it very sweet throughout. Spice and alcohol come into play as well, ramping up quickly once the bourbon enters your mouth and pushing into the finish. Like the intensity on the nose, there’s more flavor and spice intensity than you’d expect for the proof.

Finish: Along with the spice the raisins continue to pull through. That citrus detected on the nose also makes itself present again. The intense spice drops off quickly leaving a faint but sweet, fruity aftertaste that continues to linger for a while.

I.W. Harper 15 yr Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

“On the nose: lots of mint, cinnamon, dark chocolate, and some lumber. The body features ample citrus notes, more baking spice, and emerging chocolate and caramel on the backside. There’s heat at first, but this settles down into supple sweetness and a finish that’s surprisingly gentle for a 15 year old bourbon. Ultimately it’s quite balanced and delightful. Peat Chimney 12 yr Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

“Wemyss Malts’ Peat Chimney 12 Year Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a blend of 16 different malt whiskies, each aged for a minimum of 12 years. While the exact recipe of the whisky remains a closely-guarded secret, approximately one-third of the blend is derived from whiskies produced at distilleries situated in the Islay region of Scotland, which have matured in a variety of different casks.

Subtle notes of smoke and moss, followed by bolder notes of peat, smoke and salt on the initial palate. The flavors are smooth and lingering, and soften to notes of cinnamon, oak and chocolate on the long, lingering finish.” Review provided by: Caskers.com.

Bonnie Rose White Whiskey  with Spiced Apple Flavor

“Our bold Spiced Apple flavor has real, plucked-from-the-orchard taste, extracted from a barrelful of the juiciest apples, and mixed with real spices from exotic locales. That ripe apple essence gives BONNIE ROSE a hint of sweetness and a whole lot of attitude.

And you know what gives Spiced Apple a real kick? It’s our Tennessee white corn whiskey, distilled the old-fashioned way: in copper pot stills, just like nature intended. Our special mash uses 80% white corn so Spiced Apple is smooth to drink, with character and flavor by the barrel.”
