We have new whiskey! With the winter season continuing, what could be better than a nice bourbon or rye whiskey to help warm you up? So let us introduce to you the newest whiskies to take up residence on our shelves. First up, we have Redemption Rye whiskey. “Rye whiskey was once the predominant brown spirit in the United States. Classic cocktails- The Manhattan, The Whiskey Sour, and The Old Fashioned were originally created with Rye Whiskey. Prohibition changed that, and the spirit of Rye was oft forgotten by many. Redemption Rye’s goal is to bring back this feisty spirit and restore its grand place in every bar. While the law states that a whiskey must be 51% Rye to be classified as a Rye, Redemption Rye’s mash bill contains 97% rye- aged in charred new oak barrels . properly aged, we then bottle it at a bold 92 proof- perfect to stand up on its own in any cocktail or by itself in your favorite glass.” Distilled in the Indiana heartland. Bottled by Barrel Selections in Bardstown, Kentucky. For more information on the nose, taste, and a detailed review of this Rye whiskey head on over to: www.spiritsreview.com.
The next new whiskey that we now carry is Barlow Trail, a blended American whiskey from Big Bottom small batch bottled in Hillsboro, OR. “Our American Blended Whiskey is a proprietary blend of three well-aged whiskeys and contains no neutral spirits staying true to what we’re all about – whiskey. It exhibits subtle floral notes with hints of salted caramel and vanilla along with just the right amount of oak and spice. Barlow Trail was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2014 Washington Cup Spirits Competition and a Gold Medal at the 2014 Great American Distiller’s Festival.” For more information abour Big Bottom Whiskey check out their website: www.bigbottomwhiskey.com. The last new whiskey that we received is Kentucky Vintage Bourbon. “Handcrafted original sour mash bourbon. From a select few barrels, Kentucky’s most skilled master distillers carefully hand-pick the very few barrels that meet their criteria for small batch bourbon. Like fine Cognac ans great Chateau’s, a limited few barrels become destined for greatness. This bourbon has been allowed to age long beyond that of any ordinary bourbon, giving it a taste and flavor characteristics not found among other bourbons. Kentucky Vintage is handcrafted in very small quantities in the heart of the Bluegrass- Kentucky’s famous bourbon producing region. It is true vintage bourbon from our small batch. Made with pure lime stone water and only the finest natural ingredients. Aged many long years in select new charred oak barrels until full maturity is reached.” Bottled by Kentucky Vintage Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky.
